There are twelve zodiac symbols and each is associated with a specific date range and color.  They are also associated with one of the four elements; water, fire, wind, earth.

Aries

Gemini
Gemini, also known as the twins, represents the date range from May 22 to June 21.  The twins are thought to be spontaneous and flexible.  They are also intelligent and talkative.  They are seen as superficial and nervous.  The Twins are associated with the element of air and the color yellow.

Cancer
Cancer is also referred to as the crab.  It represents the date range from June 22 through July 22.  The crab is thought to be sympathetic and very sensitive.  They are also adventurous and very caring.  Moody and oversensitive are also traits associated with the crab.  The crab represents the element of water and the color silver.

Leo
Leo is also known as the lion.  It represents the date range from July 23 through August 22.  Lions are thought to be good leaders who are creative, confidant, and powerful.  They are also known for their dominance and intolerance.  The lion is associated with the element of fire and the color gold.

Virgo
Virgo is also known as the virgin.  It represents the date range from August 23 to September 23.  Virgins are thought to be very hard workers who are tidy, modest, clever, and analytical.  They are also very detailed, choosy, and critical.  The virgin is associated with the element of earth and the color green.

When you make the decision to have a zodiac symbol tattooed on your body, make sure you get the right sign.  It may be a little embarrassing to have the wrong symbol.
