Skinhead Tattoos

Think before you ink.  That is a motto that should hang over the door of every tattoo shop in the world, but that might cause them to lose money, so it is not likely to happen.  Skinhead tattoos are among the most intense and radical designs in the tattoo community today.  The amount and type of skinhead tattoos you get may depend on whether you consider yourself a "working class" or racist skinhead, but either way you should consider that you are labeling yourself for life and will cause yourself to become subject to discrimination just as much as you choose to discriminate.

Tattooing the face and scalp is something that is much more common for skinhead tattoos than anything else.  When you choose to have yourself tattooed here you are severely limiting your prospects for future employment and relationships.  It is very distracting for someone who is speaking to you to see tattoos on your face and while most tattoos would seem to be there to express a person's inner feelings and emotions to let them know who they are, tattoos on the face are more like a mask that keeps people from seeing the real you.

Anger, discrimination and violence are typical themes for skinhead tattoos.  Of course, Nazi symbols are extremely common in making a skinhead statement as well as the tendency to cover the majority of the body in tattoos.  Full sleeves and even full shirt tattoos are more common for skinhead tattoo designs than for any other group of tattoo aficionados.  Religious images are also quite common among skinheads, especially those that deem themselves Christians and claim to use the Bible to defend their beliefs and teachings.  You will even sometimes see a tattoo of Jesus on one arm and the Furor himself on the other.

Tattoos are forever and should always be considered carefully, but that goes double for skinhead tattoos.   These tattoos will define you and your beliefs even if you beliefs and convictions change over time, you will continue to be judged by the insignias and symbols you choose for your tattoo art.  You will also want to choose your tattoo artist carefully and make sure that they fully understand your culture and the kind of tattoos you are looking for.  Also, be advised that some skinhead tattoos are specific to particular gangs or groups and should not be chosen if you are not affiliated with them.  In some cases, your life may depend on the tattoos you choose so proceed with caution.
