Scorpion Tattoos

People get tattoos for a wide variety of reasons, but the main idea is to express themselves through the choice in body art.  Some people choose to document the important people and events in their lives with tattoos and others simply choose to express who they are and what they are all about.

Still other people choose tattoos just because they look really cool.  Scorpion tattoos could be chosen for a couple of those reasons.  The scorpion is a deadly insect whose tail curls up over its head and holds its deadly venomous stinger.

The symbolism behind scorpion tattoos usually represents danger, power and mystery.  A person who sports a scorpion tattoo is letting people know that they should be approached with great caution.  These are people who tend to be very personal and may be difficult to get close to without getting stung.  Scorpions are usually a fairly simple design to draw or tattoo and are most often inked in black.  They are also commonly inked in the tribal tattoo fashion for these reasons.

Another reason to get a scorpion tattoo is if your birthday is between October 23rd and November 21st because that makes you a Scorpio which is symbolized by the scorpion.  Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac and people born under this sign tend to be passionate, imaginative and self-confident.  These may be the characteristics that you would like symbolized by a scorpion tattoo.  On the other hand, Scorpios tend to be withdrawn, revengeful and unforgiving which may be symbolized as well.  Whenever you choose a scorpion tattoo you are sending a definite message whether it is the one you intend or not, so choose your message carefully and don't be afraid to let people know what your scorpion tattoo means to you personally.

Scorpion tattoos are definitely among the more foreboding images in tattoo art, but they are unique and beautiful in their own way as well.  Maybe this is the image that best describes you?  Be sure to find the image of the scorpion that you like the best or have one custom designed for you by a qualified tattoo artist.  You may wish to have your scorpion placed as your arm tattoo, ankle tattoo, shoulder or upper back tattoo. Where you place your scorpion tattoo is just as important as the design you choose for the impression it will make.  Remember that tattoos are forever, so choose with care!
