Rose Tattoos

There are many different rose tattoo designs to choose from when you plan on getting a tattoo. One of the most popular designs in tattooing is the rose.  Rose tattoos have been quite popular within the last one hundred years.  It is true that most people associate roses and other flowers with women, but the rose has transcended the gender barriers.  Rose tattoos are found on men as much as they are on women.  This is because the rose signifies passion, love and emotion in general.  A rose tattoo can then be used in any context when you think about it symbolically.

If you have decided to get a red rose tattoo, the first thing you should decide is whether the rose will be the centerpiece of the tattoo or just an accent image in the background of a tattoo. Of course, the rose is a beautiful image and design on its own, but it is also perfect to accent any other tattoo.  It is especially great to accent tattoos that have other plant life or tattoos with a scenic background.  A rose can add a certain feel to any other tattoo.  For instance, if a rose is added to a tattoo of a skull, it can be interpreted as a comment on the duality of all life and death.  If you have decided to obtain a tattoo of just a rose, you will want to think about what color you will want it and what sort of design you want it to have.

For instance, you may want a basic rose or you may want something that looks tribal. Tribal tattoo roses are becoming very popular amongst men and women these days.  The color you choose may be a color that holds some great significance for you.  Many people choose to have their roses tattooed in their favorite colors or even in the color of their birthstone.  Some people choose a color that is more compatible with their skin tone as opposed to a color that holds some other significance.  Do not automatically assume that red is the default color of tattooed roses.  There are many people who go with yellows, purples and blues.  If the rose will be part of a much larger tattoo, these details may not be as big of deal.

To get a better idea of what you want, you can start looking at rose tattoo designs on the internet, in magazines or at your local tattoo parlor.  There is a wide variety of styles to choose from, as you will find when looking through the designs.  It is very important to know exactly what you want before you go into the tattoo parlor.
